Today in s.s. we watched a movie on India it showed the Taj Mahal, the old and new Delhi, Varanasi, and the Ganges river. First we will learn about Taj Mahal witch was a building made for the shahs wife who died after her 15th child. This building was made from 1632-1648 thats 16 years of labor with 20,000 people working on it thats a lot of time and effort!Next we will learn about th Ganges river. That river was 1,560 miles long and that is were people prayed. Also it went from the Himalayas mountain to the Indian Ocean. Many people believed that Shiva was to protect them if they went in it. That religion was Hindu and 670,000,000 people believed in it. Last we will learn about the town Varanasi. It was very important because they come there before they die. In that city when the British ruled India they built railroad tracks everywhere and if you were to go there that is probably how you would travel.

This is people bathing in the Ganges and washing there clothes.

Today in math class we had a test on adding and subtracting fractions. At first I didn’t get it but when I had more practice I mastered it. This is an exsample of it….

5 1/2 + 6 1/2

step1: make equal denominators

1/2= 3/6

1/3= 2/6

Step2: 3/6 + 2/6 = 5/6

Step3:5+6=11+the 5/6

Now if you were subtracting you would have to borrow from the whole number.
